Sasha Wolloch was born in Bucharest, Romania. Both his parents as well as several generations of ancestors were born in Czernowitz. Sasha is an electronics engineer and a resident of Miami Beach, Fl. He is a frequent visitor of Czernowitz and together with Mimi Taylor has founded CJCRO in 2009.

Yakov Schwartzman was born and raised in Czernowitz and is still a city resident today. Both his parents were holocaust survivors. His mother miraculously escaped from the Kamenetz-Podolsk ghetto. Yakov is a businessman and a member of the Chabad Jewish Community in Czernowitz.

Yona Rosenberg is the grandchild and great-grandchild of members of the Czernowitz Jewish community She grew up listening to her grandparent’s stories of life in Czernowitz, a world that only exists in memory today. Yona has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania in French Studies and Political Science, and has worked in the translation industry. She is a mother of two and lives with her family in New York City.

Melita Fuhrman Vickter is the daughter of Holocaust survivors from Czernowitz. Her family lived there for generations. Several of them are buried at the Czernowitz Jewish Cemetery. Upon visiting there in 2002, she witnessed the horrible condition of the Cemetery. In order to locate her family’s graves, she hired a local resident who was forced to use a machete to cut through the vegetative overgrowth in order to locate their graves. She is proud to be a member of the CJCRO board and thankful for the major improvement that CJCRO has made to the Cemetery. Melita lives in California with her husband, Steve.

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Glisnshtain is the Chief Rabbi of Chernivtsi,Ukraine.A native of Eilat,Israel Rabbi Glisnshtain is a graduate of Yeshiva Gedolah in Kfar Chabad and of the Rabbinical College in New York.

Since 2003 Rabbi Glisnshtain is the spiritual leader of the Lubavitch Congregation of Chernivtsi. He is very actively involved with all aspects of Jewish life in the city: synagogue, youth center and youth education, kindergarten and many more.

Rabbi Glisnshtain is an active member of CJCRO and is the leader of all local  activities related to the restauration and preservation of the Czernowitz Jewish Cemetery.

Felix Tanzer was born and raised in Czernowitz till 1965. Then, he studied at the University of Saransk (Russia). Since 1973 lives in Israel. Last 27 years he worked as an engineer in the ELBIT Systems. Now, Felix retired from his work and lives in Petah-Tiqwa, ISRAEL

Isaac was born in Havana, Cuba. His father, grandfather (whom he is named for) and previous generations were born in Czernowitz. He immigrated from Cuba in 1960, is a lifelong entrepreneur and a resident of Weston, FL.
